Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- identify and describe group phenomena
- plan, implement and evaluate goal-oriented individual and group counseling
- try out different methods of active interaction
- identify digital counseling methods
- document the working methods of a supervisor

Implementation and methods of teaching

The course is for Social Services students only. It is part of the studies of the Social Pedagogical Guidance Competence module. The course consists of the following:
a) Local teaching on Lpr's campus/online workshops and preparation for them (1 credits)
b) Literature assignment (1 credit)
c) Functional guidance assignment (1 credit)
d) Working on the competence folder "I as a councellor/group leader" -assignment (2 credits)

Timing and attendance

The course duration: weeks 44-50
Passed performance requires active attendance (at least 80% of the teaching hours) and participation in the planning, implementation and evaluation of group-leading assignments as well as participation in reading circle (literature assignment)

Self-searched literature on group and infvidual guidance/counceling

Working life cooperation

Planning, implementing and evaluating the group counceling/guidance assignment for secondary school students.

Learning environment

Classroom live teaching at the LPR campus.
Moodle.

5 credits is 135 hours of student work.

Contents

-What is counceling?
-Individual counceling: Methods of active interaction. The stages of targeted individual guidance. The counceling process.
-Group counceling: Group dynamics, group processes, group development phases, group structures and role relationships.
-Forms of online guidance/counceling in social and health care services
-Goal-oriented group counceling : planning, implementation and evaluation.
