The course is split into two major parts. The first part (2,5 ECTS) focusing on academic writing and the latter part focusing on professional communication and field-specific topics (2,5 ECTS). Scheduled weekly classes and other studies to complete successfully.

About 2,5 ECTS is focused on academic practices, especially academic writing, and 2,5 ECTS is focused on other professional communication practices and skills, both written and spoken.

LAB@key (1 credit) is student’s digital introduction, which serves the purpose of getting you familiar with the procedures, digital tools and environments used in the University of Applied Sciences. LAB@key includes information about the digital tools and systems (user ID, e-mail, learning environments), course variety, as well as common knowledge about the progress of your studies and students’ wellbeing.
LAB@key (Bachelor´s Degree) includes seven parts:
1. Digital competence
2. Studying at the LAB UAS
3. Curriculum and planning your own studies
4. Course offerings
5. Ability to study - taking account of your own resources
6. Professional growth - identifying your own skills
7. Information Security training
And the final exam.

Project work can be carried out as applicable work assignments.

Project work will be done in groups. All groups will have a different task/assigment as a project. Projects can also be real cases from companies.
Possible excursions related to projects (for excample site/factory visits if needed for the task/assigment)
Final results will be specified for each group. Every group makes a final presentation about their projects and learning outcomes.
Every student will also make a personal learning diary according to instructions given in lectures.
