Implementation and methods of teaching
Lectures, discussions, demonstrations, exercises. Teaching is mainly or entirely face-to-face.
Timing and attendance
An approved mark requires at least 80% attendance in class.
Learning material and recommended literature
The material to be used during the course will be announced during the course.
Exam retakes
If the period includes an exam and the student receives a failing grade, he/she will have the opportunity to retake it at a date to be announced.
Learning environment
Teaching takes place mainly on the premises of the school. Some parts of the course can also be delivered via distance learning. Distance learning will be done via video link, for which the student must have a suitable quiet room. Suitable facilities can be found, for example, on campus.
Student time use and work load
The number of hours used for the course is determined by the number of credits indicated for the course.
Contents
The course teaches camera technique and photographic expression. The course also introduces the software used to manage and process photographs.
Assessment criteria
The assessment will be based on a photographic assignment, an exam and active participation and attendance. Half of the assessment will be based on the assignment and half on the exam. Attendance may raise or lower the grade for the assignment and the exam by up to one point. The sectional assignment will be assessed in terms of visual expression, work process and technical execution.

Approved performance (grades 1-5) requires an approved examination (minimum grade of 1) and a visual assignment carried out according to the instructions, with a grade of at least 1. Approved performance also requires sufficient attendance and completion of the main assignments.
Assessment criteria: level 1 (assessment scale 1–5)
Understand the principles of camera technology and the features of the medium in visual expression. Adequate knowledge of photographic concepts and terminology. Can apply the techniques, working methods and processes learnt in a guided way to the realisation of photographic tasks. Participates in discussions on photography during the course.
Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)
Understand the principles of camera technology and the features of the medium in visual expression. Has a good command of a wide range of photographic concepts and terminology. Can independently apply the techniques, working methods and processes learned in the execution of tasks and produce interesting visual works. Actively participates in discussions on photography during the course.
Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)
Understand the principles of camera technology and the features of the medium in visual expression. Has a good command of a wide range of photographic concepts and terminology. Can independently and versatilely apply the techniques, working methods and processes learnt in the execution of tasks and produce particularly interesting visual works. Participate actively and competently in discussions on photography during the course and bring new and interesting perspectives to the topics covered. Can independently extend and develop their knowledge and skills.
