Implementation and methods of teaching

"The course explores the possibilities of making art outside the neat, understated white gallery space. What are the issues to consider when making art in a shared public space, populated by a variety of conflicts and disagreements? How does art fit in with its surroundings? What tensions can even small artistic gestures create when they are performed in a specific place and context? What kinds of situations can art create in public space? The course will review the basics of site- and context-specific art practices and learn how to develop artworks whose meaning and content emerge from their interaction with their environment.

The course consists of lectures and assignments. A large part of the course consists of independent work, including observation of public space and exploration of artistic possibilities."

- Can apply a wide range of options to their artistic work process
- Can create artworks based on their ideas in a guided and independent way and develop their work based on feedback
- Can independently identify and compare the methods of artistic creation used
- Can evaluate and justify their skills and set artistic, content-related and technical development objectives
- Able to follow and describe the professional debate in their field

Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)

- Can apply and develop a variety of options for their artistic work process
- Can use what they have learned in a planned and creative way in their work and apply the feedback they receive
- Can apply the methods they use and analyse works
