Learning outcomes

The student is familiar with:
- the basics of software in their field
- creating digital presentation material
- using digital tools in their studies and assignments

Implementation and methods of teaching

Face-to-face teaching, independent work, lectures, skills practice, guided exercises, exercises, independent tasks, personal work, written assignments, creative problem solving, project work, discussion-based teaching, shared critique, knowledge acquisition.

Contents

Getting to know the digital environment, storing files, e.g. on a cloud server. Basic use of image editing, vector graphics and folding software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign), including the creation of a PDF publication as a course portfolio. Also the use of word processing software.

The course includes guided exercises, own work, a compilation of exercises done, reading and writing about digital design. Practise making performance material that is important to the visual artist and experiment with digital tools as a means of personal expression.
