Toteutustapa ja opetusmenetelmät

Content consists of conversational classes and Moodle assignments.

Ajoitus ja läsnäolo

Course begins with 3 (three) distant meetings In February for those who need a revision of basic grammar. Attendance to February meetings is optional.

Attendance at distant classes (March-May) is compulsory. In case of attendance difficulties, contact the teacher.

Gradable assignments are to be submitted by the end of the course.

Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus

The course implies about 108 hours of work. Student's workload consists of attending 7 distant classes, self-studies and completing written and oral assignments.
The optional beginning session is not counted into the course working hours.

The pacing of work is controlled by the student within the course schedule.

Sisältö

The course offers exercises and conversation classes to help build confidence and equip students for professional interaction. It seeks to build vocabulary and professional communication skills. Study materials are relevant to student profession.

Conversation classes with conversation practice.
Tools and resources for learning professional language.
Vocabulary, reading and listening tasks.

Lisätietoja opiskelijalle: mm. edeltävä osaaminen

It is expected that the students enrolled in the course have at least an intermediate-level command of English (CEFR B1).
There is an optional session for grammar revision in the beginning of the course.

Arviointimenetelmät

A number of assignments are graded on a scale of 0-5. Other assignments are pass/fail. Students must attain a passing grade (1 or pass) on all assignments to pass the course.
