Toteutustapa ja opetusmenetelmät

Content consists of conversational classes and Moodle assignments.

Ajoitus ja läsnäolo

Attendance at lessons is compulsory. In case of attendance difficulties, contact the teacher.

All course materials are provided via Moodle.

Toteutuksen valinnaiset suoritustavat

Prior to this class students have been instructed to complete a language test. Based on this, students with higher than B1 level English are requested to apply for a different implementation of this course.

Oppimisympäristö

The learning will occur in classrooms at LAB Mukkula campus and in Moodle.

Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus

The course should be about 108 hours of work. Student's workload consists of attending class and completing written and oral assignments.

Sisältö

Course content includes:
- tools and techniques for learning beyond this course.
- exercises and conversation classes to help build confidence and equip students for patient-client interaction.
- review common areas of Nursing practice and seek to build vocabulary and professional communication skills
- consideration of the effect of culture on communication and views of effective care.

Lisätietoja opiskelijalle: mm. edeltävä osaaminen

This course does not review English grammar. It is expected that the students enrolled in the course have an upper beginner - lower intermediate-level command of English (CEFR A2-B1).

Arviointimenetelmät

A number of assignments are graded on a scale of 0-5. Other assignments are pass/fail. Students must attain a passing grade (1 or pass) on all assignments to pass the course.

The student can perform well and in a professional manner in varied communicative situations and write easy-to-read professional English.
