Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- understand the process of experiential learning (the course is based on implementing projects in practical working life).
- participate in different roles in innovation-driven research and development projects, in different business and non-business contexts in different market areas.
- plan, organize and manage resources to achieve the project's goals.
- evaluate the success criteria and evaluate the internal and external risks related to the project.
- develop competences in solving and understanding the innovation requirements and challenges of businesses and non-businesses in different market contexts.

5 ECTS is about 133 hours of work.

Contents

In INNOHUB course, you learn to apply the knowledge learned in other courses in working life projects. If you are aiming for career change, looking for a new job or want to get an additional entry on your resume, then this is the right course for you.

Students find and select their working life projects by themselves. During the academic year, participation opportunities can also be offered by LAB University of Applied Sciences, e.g. in a research, development and innovation projects. You can also complete your working life project for your own employer. In case you need support for finding a project, the teaching staff will help you.

The course is suitable for all Master's degree programs, students of all fields. The course can be completed in Finnish or English based on the degree program language. You can also implement your project in any country, also outside of Finland.

How to proceed? Enroll the course and you will get access to INNOHUB start package in Moodle (from the beginning of September 2023).

You can enroll the course throughout the academic year and you can start your own project work at any time. The course can be completed individually, in pairs or in groups. Always agree on the form of implementation in advance.

Assessment criteria: level 1 (assessment scale 1–5)

The implementation of phases 1-4 is modest,
The student's self-assessment and goal setting provides only modest base for the project implementation and reflection of the results.
There are shortcomings in the reporting produced by the student: It is difficult to evaluate the learning outcomes based on the documentation.

Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)

The implementation of phases 1-4 is on good level.
The student's self-assessment and goal setting provides a good and relevant base for the project implementation and reflection of the results.
The documentation of the project phases is good and it is easy to point out the learning outcomes.
The student has been active throughout the course.
The client/customer of the project (in the workplace) provides a statement of the project work.

Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)

The implementation of phases 1-4 is on excellent level.
The student's self-assessment and goal setting provides an innovative and ambitious base for the project implementation and reflection of the results.
The documentation of the project phases is outstanding and it is easy to point out the learning outcomes including phases where student has exceeded himself/herself and the client's expectations
The student has been active throughout the course and demonstrated her/his ability to manage her/his own implementation.
The client/customer of the project (in the workplace) provides a statement of the project work.
