The student is able to:
- describe the objectives and core contents of their thesis
- plan and describe the stages of the thesis process
- take into account the possible research permit and copyright issues

Implementation and methods of teaching

The course consists of two parts: Thesis planning 4 credits + Thesis report writing 1 credit:

Thesis Report Writing 1 credit, online delivery: to be registered according to a separate schedule in Moodle.
The Thesis Report Writing course is part of the Thesis Design course. It should be taken when the work is in its very early stages. The course will be announced on the Moodle platform

Choice of topic and related preparatory tasks

OCTOBER-MARCH - Topic seminar

The topic seminar is a presentation of a topic. The seminar will focus on the starting points of the work, and will require you to answer the following questions:

What, why, for whom, how?
What does it require of the author?
What are the objectives?
What are the skills that are being applied?
How does expertise come to the fore?
How is the topic approached, from what perspective?
The research approach - an initial plan of how to go about the research
Formulating the problem!
Making and developing a work plan
Framework
Documention has been started
Choose a supervisor and opponent for your work

DECEMBER - PLANNING - WORKSHOP

After the workshop and as a follow-up, the following should be clarified/visited:

Students should justify their work: what, why, for whom and how the questions are relevant.
What does the thesis and the process require of the author?
The objective must be clear and written down.
What will be applied in the work?
How does expertise come into it?
What kind of research approach is there in the work?
Formulation of the problem and refinement of the formulation task from the topic seminar.
Scheduling the process
How to document the process, how do you make the process visible?
Presenting/constructing the disposition

2 contact meetings with the steering group
