Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- explain the relevant concepts of process and project management
- analyze the state of process management in an organization and plan how to systematically develop those processes
- plan and evaluate a development project in an organisation
Implementation and methods of teaching
The virtual lectures are common with the students of the AT00CC79-3002 International Project Management (5 ects) course.
Master students have in the course own process management part, where to apply process development and to write a report.

The project management part has the following timing of virtual lectures (Zoom).

The lectures will be recorded. No presence required.
An exam in the Moodle will be organized flexibly within the settled time period.

Learning material and recommended literature
There will be the course material available in the Moodle course platform in the beginning of the course.

To be agreed with the responsible teacher, possible by the earlier higher educational studies or by professional experience (eRPL procedure).
Working life cooperation
In the process mangement part a student can apply the development assignment in own working environment, if possible.

Moodle course platform, virtual lectures, in process management part own working environment, if possible to apply.
Student time use and work load
I ects equals with ca. 27 working hours. The total study hours of the course is ca. 135 hours for a student. An exam will be organized in the Moodle within the settled time period. Timing of virtual lectures is informed above. A student also works independently with the assignments.

Course goals
PART 1 Project management
Background and development of the project management, basic tools, international team work
PART 2 Process management
The goal is to create an understanding of the meaning of the process management in businesses' and organizations' leadership.
It is also targeted to give abilities to participate in business/organizational process identification, modelling, assessment and development.
The main content is based on the utilization of process thinking in leadership, identification and modelling.
It is also how to connect processes in strategy and impact of the ICT in process development and renovation.
Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.
It is required to have study right in the LAB Master level studies.
Assessment criteria
Exam, written assignments and Master students will also make a process development report.

Assignments or the exam undone or not in an approved level during the course time.
Assessment criteria: level 1 (assessment scale 1–5)
Student's performance is inadequate or the outputs don't equal with the assignment(s) requirements. A student has used references in the written assignments, but there are still inadequacy. The content of the assignment is very minimal. Own thinking is not expressed, and that is why there are no interdependence between issues. Still, the exam is passed.
Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)
A student works in a smooth manner and there are only a need affording a bit more. In essay or report assignments a few issues are presented and illustrated by examples.
Through own thinking the theory and examples are interrelated. It has been brought out key issues and the assignments are structured sets of written outputs.
Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)
Student's is performing in a very smooth manner, output techniques is personal, outputs of the assignments are according to the requirements.Furthermore, essays and a report include knowledge based thinking from various approaches, comparisons or assessment.
