The student is able to
- develop an understanding of Asian countries' role and status in the global economy
- develop an understanding of the core factors related to economic, political, legal, technological, environmental, and cultural environments of a chosen Asian market
- develop an understanding of the business environment of the chosen Asian market, its opportunities and challenges

The course is executed mainly virtually/as self-study.
• starting session on 5th February
Otherwise the course is executed through an individually managed group assignment. The assignment (contents, evaluation, timetable, etc.) is presented in detail in a separate file; the assignment should be ready and returned by 16.4.2021.

This is an accelerated course to be completed by the middle of April.

• 12.2.2021 @ Group members, product, and country to be added into a wiki in Moodle, no class
• 25.2.2021 @ 23.00 Assignment one returned.
• 26.2.2021 Assignment one presented, 10 minutes per group
• 2.4.2021 @ 23.00 upload assignment two for comments.
• 9.4.2021 @ 23.00 Comment on three other teams work.
• 16.4.2021 @ 12:00 - 16:00 Final presentations are 20 minutes focusing on the practical specifics of the market entry issues, not the Pestel and generic stuff. An electronic version of both reports and presentation are uploaded to Moodle.

Two written assignments and final presentation are 100 percent of the course.
20 percent. Assignment one overview and Pestel of target country focusing specifically on the targeted product/service.
60 percent. Final document the specific practical recommendations of entering the target market for the next three years.
20 percent. The presentation of the market entry case for the specific product/service to the target country.

• is able to identify differences and similarities between the chosen Asian countries
• is able to identify future business opportunities and development scenarios
The perspective of this assignment is drawing on the Food from Finland initiative. We will consider how one of the Finnish Food and Beverage companies listed on the webpage could enter the target market in Asia.
