The student is able to

Implementation and methods of teaching
Contact teaching online and on campus. Flipped and active learning, online work, learning assignments, exercises, teaching and guidance practice, individual and group assignments, and cooperation with working life when possible.
The course has connections with course 2.2 Movement and Mobility as Support for Functional Capacity, so it is recommended to complete them simultaneously.
Timing and attendance
The course requires attendance. Contact teaching is scheduled in the timetable. Other independently completed content and assignments must be completed within the schedules defined at the beginning of the course. Active participation in contact teaching and adherence to the course schedule will also be evaluated.
Absences (due to illness) must be reported to the teacher responsible for the practice session, and the student must demonstrate how the lesson content has been studied.

Lahti: March 31, 2025 seniors' testing day (mandatory).
Exam retakes
The course does not have an exam; instead, competence is verified through assigned tasks and active participation. Failed assignments must be supplemented/redone.

Student time use and work load
The scope of the course is 5 ECTS credits, which corresponds to 135 hours of student work.
The amount of contact teaching is 53 hours and the portion of independent work is 82 hours.
Contents
After completing the course, the student can
- select methods for assessing functional capacity in a client-centered way
- measure client's functional capacity reliably
- define client-centered goals that support functional capacity and participation
- identify and use guidance and counseling methods that promote client's functional capacity and participation
- document the basics of client's functional capacity information.
The course supports the development of the student's examination and assessment competence, therapy competence, and guidance and counseling competence.
