Implementation and methods of teaching

As part of the course, the development task involves designing a digital solution for a company in groups using the Lean Service Creation (LSC) method.

In the course, there will be three collaborative online days and online guidance sessions four times. The rest of the work will be carried out independently and remotely in groups. The first online day consists of an introductory expert lecture on user experience design and an introduction to the LSC method. At the end of the day, development tasks will be assigned, and group work on them will begin. On the second online day, we will practice modeling interactive mobile applications in practice using the Marvel software (https://marvelapp.com), with an emphasis on touchscreen devices as a platform. On the third online day, groups will present their development tasks, and we will have feedback discussions. Between the collaborative online days, there will be four remote guidance sessions using the Zoom software.

The course includes a two-part pre-assignment. In the first part of the assignment, students familiarize themselves with the LSC method, while in the second part, they delve into UX/UI design using the book 'About Face: The Essentials of Interaction Design' by Cooper, A., Reimann, R., Cronin, D., & Noessel, C. (2014), published by John Wiley & Sons.

Timing and attendance

- Students will be accepted into the course by 8.12.23, after which an email will be sent to those accepted, including information about the course's online learning environment, Moodle
- The pre-assignment for the course will be available on Moodle on 8.12.23
- The deadline for submitting the pre-assignment is 8.1.2024
- The course will have three collaborative online days: 10.1.24 9-13, 17.1.24 9-12 and 13.3.24 9-14
- Online guidance will be provided on four occasions: 24.1.24 9-12, 31.1.24 9-10, 7.2.24 9-12, and 21.2.24 9-12

Primary students of Digital solutions for business and Digital solutions for design and media are accepted for the course. Grouping and company briefing take place on the first study day.

Implementation and methods of teaching

The development task of the study course involves designing a digital solution for a company in groups using the Lean Service Creation (LSC) method. In the course, two distance learning days and guidance are organized together. Other work is done independently and remotely in groups. The first remote day consists of an introductory expert lecture on user experience design and familiarization with the LSC method. We also test an interactive rapid prototyping software in practice (https://marvelapp.com).

Touchscreen devices are emphasized as a platform. The development tasks are distributed at the end of the day, and we start working on them in groups. On the second day, the groups present their development tasks, and there is a feedback discussion. Three remote control sessions are organized using the Zoom software between the shared remote days.

Timing and attendance

- Students are accepted for the course by December 8. (The accepted will be sent an email with the necessary information)
- The pre-assignment of the study course opens with the Moodle implementation on December 8, 2022
- The deadline for returning the advance assignment is 9 January 2023
- The course has two remote days: 11.1.2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 8.3.2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Guidance is organized remotely (Zoom) 25.1, 8.2. and 22 February 2023 from 9:00 to 14:00
