The student is able to

Learning outcomes

The student is able to

Implementation and methods of teaching

The course is implemented jointly by Lahti and Lappeenranta. In addition, the course is partly organized multi-professionally with health nursing students, so that starting from the basic studies, the multi-professional way of working in occupational health care becomes familiar. The study includes independent and small group work online, group work on campus and in working life cooperation, and joint Zoom meetings.

Timing and attendance

The study period is scheduled for weeks 4-20/2025.

Acceptance of the course requires active participation in the implementation.

Learning material and recommended literature

It will be announced on the Moodle pages of the course. No required literature to be acquired.

Working life cooperation

During the study period, we work together a lot, e.g. tasks are done in small groups, different work environments are analyzed - a job survey is made. Information provision, guidance and counseling (TANO activity), health check-up plan, assessment of work ability and health plan are applied to these.

Exam retakes

Failed proficiency tests of the study course can be repeated twice. A person who does not participate in team tasks will have to make up for his absence.

Learning environment

The course is implemented on campuses and online (Zoom, Moodle).

The student identifies some risk factors for work-related diseases and the rehabilitation needs of employees. He knows the importance of multi-professionalism in occupational health care.
