Implementation and methods of teaching
Advanced Clinical Training (15 ects) is done in the final semester in different nursing departments. The student can choose the placement by him/herself by booking the placement from Jobiili or from the unit. It is mandatory to discuss the placement booking with the clinical placement coordinator as the placement needs coordinator's approval. The length of the practice period is 15 ects (1 ects = 27 hours of work).

Prerequisites:
- Clinical training in basics of nursing, Clinical training self-care supporting nursing, Clinical training in Medical-surgical nursing 1-2, Clinical training in Mental health and substance abuse nursing, Clinical training in Child, Adolescent and Family Nursing, Clinical training in Gerontological Nursing, Optional Clinical Training
- Passing medical calculations (1-3)
- Theory studies of nursing completed

Approved - Failed
100% presence in simulations
Advanced Clinical practice placement is approved if,
- The student has presented his/her personal objectives for clinical practice period to both guiding teacher and clinical supervisor by the second week of practice
- The student shows professional ability to follow general rules of work life: follow the working hours (being in work on time) or inform about absences on time, appropriate behavior in the workplace etc.
- Is showing learning progress in sufficient level for meeting objectives and shows capability of becoming a registered nurse
- The student shows sufficient level of professional growth, that is orientating oneself for working life
Advanced Clinical practice placement is not approved if,
- The student has not presented his/her personal objectives for clinical practice period to both guiding teacher and clinical supervisor by the second week of practice
- The student does not show professional ability to use general rules of work life: follow the working hours (being in work on time) or inform about absences on time, inappropriate behavior in the workplace etc.
- Many absences during the practice period (the practice week are not united) which makes learning and guiding almost impossible
- The student does not show signs of learning and proceeding to meeting objectives during clinical practice
- The student does not show level of professional growth, that is orientating oneself for working life
- Does not show the capability of working in the level of graduating nursing student/future registered nurse
