Toteutustapa ja opetusmenetelmät

Continuous enrollment.

This is an on-demand, self-paced online course focused on generative AI in English. The course introduces AI basics, key AI terminology in English, AI ethics and risks, how to leverage generative AI in the writing process, and basic AI prompting techniques in English. You complete the course by studying course materials, taking quizzes, trying out AI tools, and participating in online discussions to share and reflect on your findings with your peers. You can study at your own pace. You will automatically receive a course completion badge, which will show in your Moodle profile.

NOTE: Please don't enroll if you have already completed AI Corner. This course is an updated version of AI Corner and repeats the AI Corner contents.

The estimated course workload is 1 ECTS (27 hours), including self-study and completing quizzes and course activities.

Sisältö

The course introduces AI basics (AI as a concept, some history of AI, etc.), key AI terminology, and AI ethics and risks (academic integrity, hallucinations, AI bias, cognitive outsourcing, AI's impact on work, etc.). You will also learn how to leverage generative AI in the writing process and basic AI prompting techniques (few shot prompting, role prompting, etc.). You complete the course by studying course materials, taking quizzes, trying out AI tools, and participating in online discussions to share and reflect on your findings with your peers. You can study at your own pace and, after completing all required activities, will automatically receive a course completion badge, which will show in your Moodle profile.

Lisätietoja opiskelijalle: mm. edeltävä osaaminen

The course is suitable for anyone with little to no prior knowledge of using generative AI in English. The course is at the CEFR B2 English level. To successfully complete the course, you should have good to very good English skills. You should also have good digital skills and, for example, know how to sign up for online systems.

Arviointimenetelmät

The course is graded pass/fail. After you have completed all required activities, you will automatically receive a course completion badge, which will show in your Moodle profile. After receiving the badge, contact the course instructor to have your 1 ECTS credit registered in the system.
