Learning outcomes

The student
- Can identify the need for psychological support for diabetic patients, provide support to them and their families in psychologically challenging situations, and offer multidisciplinary self-care support.
- Can consider the impact of diabetes on different stages and situations of a diabetic patient’s life, as well as on their close ones, provide early support for self-care, prevent risk situations caused by diabetes, and guide them to multidisciplinary support.
- Can examine the feet of diabetic patients, perform risk classification, identify high-risk feet, and consider the risk of wounds in the care and planning of care for diabetic patients.
- Recognizes the specific characteristics of wounds in diabetic patients and knows the basics of wound care.
- Understands the special features of diabetes care in the elderly and can apply the principles of diabetes care individually according to the needs of the elderly, considering their close ones.
