Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- understand the importance of language study in higher education and in the social and health care sector
- expand the knowledge of social and health concepts
- develop the written and oral skills needed in nursing invidually
- develop independent language learning skills.

Implementation and methods of teaching

Lessons and independent studying. Contents of the course are studied mainly with functional exercises.
Blended learning: in-class and online (Moodle)

Timing and attendance

The course is organized 6 February - March 21 2025.
Active attendance is required.

Materials given by the teacher. The material is available on Moodle.

Exam retakes

The exam dates will be announced later.

Assessment criteria

Continuous evaluation: regular attendance and active participation in lectures and in-class exercises.
An exam to evaluate, how well the student can

- understand Finnish texts
- understand Finnish talk
- speak in Finnish.
