Learning outcomes

- plan and describe the stages of the thesis process
- take into account the possible research permit and copyright issues

Info, student's own work, personal guidance, on-campus seminar.
The 1 credit course on writing a thesis report is a course organised by the LAB for all students, who must register for it in Moodle on their own course platform. The course is delivered by distance learning. This is included in the planning phase of the thesis.
Timing and attendance
Attendance at seminars is mandatory.

Only agreed with the mentor teachers in exceptional cases.
Working life cooperation
Individual theses can be carried out as assignments from working life or in collaboration with working life partners. In such cases, the student will enter into a contract with the employer in accordance with the Lab guidelines.

The thesis planning component is 5 credits, which corresponds to approximately 135 hours of student work (one credit 27 hours).
Contents
The planning of the thesis already starts with an information session in the spring of the third year.
The Research and Development course (5 credits) guides students through the thesis design phase. This course is completed by completing and presenting assignments 1 and 2 by the design seminar. These are the work plan and the disposition.
The compulsory 1 credit course on writing a thesis report is a course organised by LAB for all students and must be enrolled in Moodle on their course platform. This is included in the planning phase of the thesis.
The actual thesis work and supervision starts in September-October. The planning phase will be replaced by the implementation phase in November-December, after the planning seminar.

You can start writing your thesis when you have completed around 180 credits.
Assessment criteria
To be successful, active participation in seminars, peer review and supervision is required.
Competency-based assessment:
The student will be able to develop or acquire a topic suitable for him/herself
The student will be able to develop a thesis plan with timetable and objectives.
The student will be able to present and discuss the topic.
The student will be able to collect the knowledge base for the thesis and develop a structural model for the thesis
The student will be able to present and discuss his/her data collection and structural model.
