Learning outcomes

After the course the student is able to
- use the structures and the vocabulary needed while presenting oneself in working and studying situations
- can present himself and tell about himself in spoken and written way
- knows the basic rules of pronunciation
- knows the basic differences of the formal and the informal communication
- is able to ask questions and tell opinions.
- knows the basic structures: the Present Tense, the articles, the prepositions, the personal pronouns, the structures that
indicates the possession, the negation, the interrogative sentence, the numbers 0-100.

Implementation and methods of teaching

Teaching methods: Written and spoken exercises, individual working. The languages of instruction are Finnish, Spanish and English.

Timing and attendance

Contact teaching 28 lessons. Assessment of oral language skills based on continuous assessment requires 75% active attendance or oral examination. Timetables: TimeEdit

Alternative completion methods

Written (in EXAM room) and oral examination. Students study the course content completely independently. There is one month after the end of the course for the written (EXAM room) and oral examination via Teams. Make an appointment (make an invitation) in Teams for 30 minutes, 8.30 - 16 Monday to Friday. Written examination in EXAM room, booking link in Moodle at the end of the course. During the oral interview, please ensure that you are alone in a quiet room with no interruptions.

Exam retakes

Retakes: individual written examination in EXAM room, contact your teacher. Oral examination 15 min via Teams, if necessary. During the oral examination, please ensure that you are alone in a quiet room with no interruptions.

After the course the student is able to use the structures and the vocabulary needed while presenting oneself in working and studying situations. The student can present himself in spoken and written way.

Grammar: The Present Tense, the articles, the prepositions, the personal pronouns, the structures that indicates the possession, the negation, the interrogative sentence, adjectives, the numbers 0-100.

Assessment criteria

Written examination (in EXAM room) and oral examination. There is one month's time to do the examinations.

The oral examination is an interview or a grade based on continuous assessment, continuous assessment requires 75% active attendance.
Make an appointment (make an invitation) by Teams for 30 minutes, 8.30am - 4pm Monday to Friday, if you do not assist to the continuous assessment. During the oral hearing, make sure you are alone in a quiet room with no interruptions.

The knowledge and the skills of the student are on commendable level in relation to the learning expectations.
The student can communicate laudably in written and spoken way in simple communication situations.
The student can perfectly apply learned things to new communication situations.
