Learning outcomes

Student is able to
- acquire an understanding of sustainability in the context of the supply chain
- define the four perspectives of supply chain sustainability and link them to a business context
- analyze and evaluate the sustainability implications of various supply chain concept
- assess the value and impact of sustainable SCM on a company’s competitiveness and strategy
- recognize sustainable supply chain future trends and innovations

Implementation and methods of teaching

Are you eager to learn more about Sustainability in Supply Chain management? In the Sustainable Supply Chain Management course, you will look into different sustainability solutions that companies apply. You will hear company presentations and will have a chance to ask questions from the company representatives. As part of the course, you will look closer into one company's sustainability solutions.

Compulsory attendance in the first introduction lecture and highly recommended for later events (scheduled in TimeEdit).
Orientation lecture on week 5. The course will be held on campus during the day.

Preliminary content:
Orientation and introduction to sustainability
Sustainability in the context of the supply chain

Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.

Recommended previous knowledge:
Basics of Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
Supply network, Logistics and Supply Chain Management or similar knowledge.
Course: Orientation to sustainability thinking (for LAB students).

Student can explain what is sustainable supply chain management and has basic knowledge of the sustainability in the field of supply chain management.

Student can mention business objectives for sustainability. Student knows how to apply sustainability in practice in business. Student can illustrate examples of good sustainable practices.

Student can define and manage processes of sustainable solutions in supply chain. Student knows how to apply sustainability in practice in various business fields. Student can define and analyze examples of good sustainable practices.
