Learning outcomes
Student is able to
-use basic concepts of logistics and supply chain management.
- the principles of value chain formation.
- identify the impact of logistics and supply chains on the company's profitability and competitiveness.
- describe the importance of customer orientation and stakeholder cooperation throughout the supply chain.
Implementation and methods of teaching
Learn essential principles in this logistics and supply chain core competence course. Participate in workshops to understand the global supply chain and hear real-world case examples. Participate in classroom activities to learn how to make a proper procurement decision and manage supply chain risks. You will also learn about career opportunities and education options.
Punctuality: Arrive on time for lectures. Check TimeEdit for your lecture schedule and follow it. Attendance registration will be done during each lecture. Late entry to the classroom will be treated as equivalent to absence.
Timing and attendance
Requirement: To complete the course successfully, you must attend at least 80% of the lectures.
Consequence: If you fall below the 80% attendance requirement, you will be unenrolled from the course.
Absence must be informed to the teacher.
Learning material and recommended literature
Learning Materials: Course materials will be provided on Moodle. Additionally, you are encouraged to use sources you find independently, as well as websites like Logistiikan Maailma or similar.
All assignments are compulsory to pass the course. Assignments are individual and group work, some will be presented in lectures.

Contents
Preliminary content:
Supply Chain and value to the business
Basics on warehousing and transportation
Basics of procurement
Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.
No preliminary knowledge is needed. A core competence course.
Assessment criteria
You will accumulate points throughout the course, to reach 100 points. Your final grade will be based on the total points you have earned. Please note that late submissions will negatively impact your evaluation and affect your final grade.

The student can explain what are logistics and supply chain management and has basic knowledge in the field of supply chain management.

The student can define and manage processes of logistics and supply chain. The student knows how to apply concepts of logistics and supply chain management in the field of business.
