- search, structure, create and utilize foresight information

Implementation and methods of teaching
The study course contains two parts:
* anticipating future trends (2,5 cr), lecturer Anu Nuutinen
* innovation management (2,5 cr), lecturer Anu Kurvinen
Contact teaching on Skinnarila Campus.
Note: course includes compulsory attendance!

Course assignments are based on working life co-operation.
In part I a foresight platform used by real companies will be used.

The re-assignments may differ from the assignments done during the course. For example there may be an examination, an essay etc.

1 cr = 27 hours student work (5 cr = 135h).
Note that only a small part of these are covered by the contact lessons.
Contents
Contents of the study course:
- Anticipation as a way of thinking
- Key Concepts and Approaches to Future Research
- Anticipating changes in the operating environment and its application
- Basic concepts and method of innovation management
- The importance and process of innovation
- Company cases - will be decided and informed in the beginning of the course.
Assessment criteria
MANDATORY:
* presentation to the case-company (futures table and scenarios) and the description of the foresight process
* participation to Innovation Day
* Learning portfolio
CRITICAL:
* participating the mandatory learning sessions. The exact dates and time are informed on the introduction lecture and Moodle course platform.
* peer feedback
Deadlines for each part will be given and those shall be followed!
The effect of missing assignments / participation / etc will be told in the beginning of the course and in Moodle.

The student is able to (minimum level):
- use professional terms in correct way
- describe the basics of foresight and innovation
- describe the importance of foresight and innovation
The mandatory assignments are done, at least in adequate level and all the compulsory tasks are done. Possible absences from the mandatory classes are covered by given tasks.
