The student
- is familiar with the main stages of the job search process in Finland
- is able to tell about his/her skills
- understands short texts related to job search
- is able to communicate in situations related to job search.

Implementation and methods of teaching

This is a campus course (Lappeenranta).
The final exam will be held in the Exam room on campus.

This course cannot be completed online.
The course cannot be completed independently.

The course will be organized during two periods.

Active participation on lessons is necessary and required. The course cannot be completed independently.

Period 1: Zoom sessions 13 x 2 h and independent studying 55 h
Period 2: Zoom sessions 11 x 2 h, independent assignments 32 h

- A typical workday
- Basic vocabulary of working life
- Education and professions in Finland
- Basics of job searching
- Own education and skills

After this course the student
- can communicate in short social situations in working life and is familiar with the basic vocabulary of typical working day
- is familiar with the education system in Finland and can tell about his / her own education and skills in informal situations
- is familiar with the main stages of the job search process in Finland.

Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.

Finnish 4 or equivalent skills. The course cannot be completed after Finnish 2 course.

Assessment criteria

Continuous evaluation: participating in the classes, completing week assignments
Exam at the end of the second period in the Exam room.
Assignments to be assessed in the second period.
