Learning outcomes

Student
- is able to work stone with different techniques
- is able to identify different types of stones and their special features
- knows the occupational safety of stone processing equipment and basic maintenance of machines
- can use stone as part of one's own expression
- is able to work thematically independently and in a group

Implementation and methods of teaching

The versatile stone -course introduces you to stone as a material for art and explores its various possibilities, both technically and in terms of content.

The course is open to first-time participants (who must have completed the basics of jewellery art) and to those who have worked with stone for a longer period of time.

The course includes practice in stone working techniques and deepening your own expression through the design and realisation of a work, including with a visiting teacher.

The course cannot be taken remotely.
Attendance 80%.

Student time use and work load

Face-to-face tuition every week from Tuesday to Friday, usually between 9-17.

Contents

- A common theme for everyone to work with: the theme varies from school year to school year.
The theme for autumn term 2023 will be announced later.

- First-time students will start the course by completing a stone lisence card which will include
- a first set of basic exercises will be introduced at the beginning of the course.

The basics of jewellery art must be completed before attending the course.

Assessment criteria

Attendance (80%) and successful completion of the assignments will be the basis for a numerical mark of 1-5.
