Learning outcomes

The student is able to
-explain the different stages of the nursing process and identifies the issues to be documented in the different stages.
-identify the key principles of documentation
-identify the content of the national documentation model
-use structured documentation based on the case scenario
-use appropriate language structures at different stages of documentation

Implementation and methods of teaching

The course is taught in classroom at the Lappeenranta campus.

The student must participate in the teaching and do the exercises and assignments related to the course.

Teaching methods: functional lecture, workshop, independent work and exam.

The student can
Explain the steps of the nursing process
Identify the issues to be documented at the different stages of the nursing process
Identify the key principles of nursing documentation
Identify the content of the national nursing documentation model.
Identify the language structures used in the different stages of nursing documentation and their purpose.

Skills criteria:
The student can
Read and understand the issues involved in the different stages of the nursing process
Use structured nursing documentation in a client case
Use appropriate language structures in the different phases of nursing documentation


Criteria related to attitude:
Students show a willingness and ability to learn nursing documentation practices and apply them to their own work.
