Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- tell about their own housing and neigbourhood.
- understand and write simple messages and announcements related to housing.
- understand and speak words and expressions related to weather.
- ask questions in simple shopping and other situations (e.g., clothing and furniture stores and bus and railway stations).
- read short advertisements, announcements and other texts related to travelling (e.g., timetables).

Implementation and methods of teaching
Lessons at Lappeenranta campus and independent studying (homework). Contents of the course are studied mainly with functional exercises.
Timing and attendence
The course is completed in one period, in January - February 2025. A minimum of 75 % attendance and active participation is required. If a student is not on the course during the first 2 weeks and does not report their absence, they will be withdrawn from the course.

Learning material and recommended literature
Materials given by the teacher. Most of the material is also in Moodle.
Exam retakes
Written and oral exam. Intermidiate exams in Moodle. The exam dates will be announced at the beginning of the course.

Lessons are at the campus and exercises in Moodle.

Approximately 81 hours (meetings + independent studying).

The course content will be the following:
- home, living and nearby area
- clothes, colors, shopping
- vehicles, traveling
- t-plural
- to have -stucture
- locative cases (Where? Where from? Where to?)
- have to/must structure
- the basics of object
- k, p, t -gradation in verbs and nouns.
Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.
Finnish 1 and 2 -courses or equivalent skills.

A written and oral exams to evaluate, how well the student can
- write in Finnish
- understand Finnish texts
- understand Finnish talk and
- speak in Finnish.
