Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- design functional products for different uses
- identifies different functional and intelligent materials and their uses
- develops a technology-based product at concept level
- apply existing smart technologies to wearable products
Implementation and methods of teaching
The course is face-to-face at the campus. It contains lectures and practical tasks.
More detailed schedule will be published on the first day of the course.

The course is devided into three parts:
- Functional product's design and materials
- 3D printing for clothing
- What are "smart textiles"?
The first two parts contain practical tasks and experimentation. The third contains information retrieval and presentation.
Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.
Basic know-how (equal to first year studies) about textile materials, pattern cutting and sewing.

Student is able to
- recognize several functional textiles, products and technologies
- design and manufacture a functional clothing and accessory collection according to a separate criteria (provided by the teacher on the first day)
Practical tasks and presentations have been handed-in according to the schedule.
Practical tasks' quality meet the criteria.
