Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- ask about the health and describe their own health.
- describe places, things and people.
- understand and write short messages about everyday life (e.g., invitations, requests, messages of absence).
- understand short messages and advertiments related to celebrations and events.
- tell about matters and events using the most common verbs in the past tense.

- Health, sickness, body parts and appearance

- events and celebrations related to student life (e.g., birthdays, student events, town festivals)

- short messages about free time, studies, and work (formal and informal)

- basic information on the plural partitive

- KPT variation in verb types 3 and 4

- word types

-basic information on the past tense

-basic information on the object

Assessment criteria

An exam to evaluate, how well the student can
- write in Finnish
- understand Finnish texts
- understand Finnish talk
- speak in Finnish.

Active participation is expected in the course.

The student understands the main points from written and spoken texts and is able to react with short sentences.

The student masters the vocabulary and structures related to health, celebrations and spare time in an excellent way.
The student understands the main points from written and spoken texts and is able to react in their own words.
The student can produce mainly flawless written and spoken texts.
