Implementation and methods of teaching

Classroom teaching in English, lectures, exercises.

Timing and attendance

Spring semester 2024.
At least 80% attendance requirement for teaching sessions.

Learning material and recommended literature

The teaching and reference material will be distributed during the course in the course teams group.

Alternative completion methods

Any optional mode of delivery must be negotiated separately with the course teacher.

Exam retakes

Any possibility to repeat the course must be negotiated with the teacher of the course.

Student time use and work load

The scope of the course is 5 credits.
1 credit = 27 student hours. 5 credits = 135 student hours.

Contents

Ideation, design and workshop delivery of a conceptual industrial design professional portfolio. Comparative analysis of existing professional design portfolios. Preparation of a professional curriculum vitae. Basics of graphic composition, layout and typesetting of the portfolio. Basics of typography for designers.

Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.

Expert communication skills, Visual design tools, Presentation techniques, Introduction to design, Ergonomics and accessibility, CAD work. Basics of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign software.

Assessment criteria

Practical exercises, attendance, active participation in interaction and implementation activities.

Assessment on a numerical scale of 1-5. If the assignments are returned late, the grade will be reduced by one number.

Too many absences (more than 20% of lessons).
Compulsory exercises not completed.

Assessment criteria: level 1 (assessment scale 1–5)

The student has attended the required classes. The student has participated in the mid-term review and assessment of the exercises. Exercises well carried out. Performance in the exercises and course activity indicate good skills.

If the return of the assignments is late, the grade will be reduced by one.

The student has attended the required classes. The student has participated in the mid-term review and assessment of the exercises. Exercises completed with distinction. The performance of the exercises and the course activity indicate commendable skills and knowledge. The student has shown professional initiative in his/her work.
