Contents

The Mindfulness in Student Life course provides an opportunity to learn important skills in stress management, self-awareness and presence. It also creates an opportunity to meet others and build a sense of community. The course is designed for all students at the Institute of Design who want to increase their overall well-being and learn to listen to themselves. You do not need previous experience of mindfulness or meditation to participate.

On the course you will learn a range of skills that will help you in your studies and in your future career.
- Practical techniques to help you manage stress and balance the demands of your study life with your own needs
- Quieting the mind: mindfulness exercises help to calm the mind. When your mind is calm, creativity can more freely bubble to the surface. Quieting your mind opens up space for new ideas and insights, and helps you to notice patterns of thinking and create new solutions.
- A deeper sense of self: by getting to know yourself better, you can gain clarity about your goals, strengthen your self-esteem and find a better balance between your busy life and the rest of your life.

One part of the course sessions is a sound healing, a unique way to relax and recover from stress. The healing sounds of the singing bowls help to create a calm state in the body and mind, as well as promoting relaxation, sleep quality and overall well-being.

Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.

Priority will be given to students from the Institute of Design.
For the course you will need to bring your own mat and blanket.
