Implementation and methods of teaching

Individual assignments on Moodle learning platform + group assignments in Zoom meetings
-Active individual work on field-specific vocabulary (qualifications, work, business vocabulary)
-Active work on one group work assignment:Bi-weekly discussions in Zoom
-A one-way job interview video (individual), a business report (individual)

Timing and attendance

The Moodle learning platform will be available for students on 10 September 2024.
Scheduled meetings and assignment deadlines will be shown in Moodle Completion Progress Bar.

Exam retakes

Course grade is based on several assignments ((business vocab quiz, email + report, job interview video, discussion skills). No final exam.

Student time use and work load

The estimated course workload is 4 x 27 hours, including an online kick-off session, online discussion sessions, reading, course assignments and activities.

Contents

Basic tools for language learning; business themes and concepts; education and qualifications; identifying key job skills and tackling job-related situations in English; basic discussion and presentation skills.

This course implementation is for LLTILIL24SV only.No exceptions.

Intermediate to upper-intermediate level skills in English (e.g. CEFR B2 / IELTS 6-6.5). Note: This course does not review English grammar. It is expected that the students enrolled in the course have good intermediate-level English skills. In addition, it is expected that the enrolled students have good time management skills and know how to study online.

The student performs well and in a professional manner in varied communicative situations and writes easy-to-read, grammatically good professional English.
