The student is able to
- promote the overall well-being of an elderly person and their family and evaluate the factors affecting it
- apply preventive approach in public health nursing for elderly and explain the characteristics of the health counseling for elderly people
- explain the content and meaning of competence in aging and age-friendliness from the perspectives of individual and community and how to promote them
- support the involvement, equality and activity of an elderly person in a community and society

Learning objectives of the study course:
The student can:
- promote the comprehensive well-being of the elderly person and his family and evaluate the factors affecting it
- applies a preventive approach in the work of a health nurse for the elderly and explains the special features of health counseling for the elderly
- explains the content and meaning of age competence and age-friendliness for both individuals and communities and how to promote them
- support the inclusion, equality and agency of the elderly in the community and society
