Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- communicate in many common everyday situations
- understand slowly and clearly spoken Finnish when the topic and the vocabulary are familiar
- understand and write a simple message or text
- use the basic vocabulary and some grammatical structures of Finnish.

Implementation and methods of teaching

Online lessons (in Zoom) and independent work.

Timing and presence
In the spring semester, term 8.1. - 15.3.2023. Lectures twice a week: on Mondays at 16.15 - 17.45 and on Thursdays at 8.15 - 9.45. Total of 17 meetings. Schedule is in Moodle platform when course begins. Active participation is required.

Contents

The course content will be the following:
- telling about one’s everyday life
- home and living
- food and drinks
- travelling
- time expressions
- verb types 1–5
- local cases.

Continuous assessment, assignments and final test.
