Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- work in a multidisciplinary team
- develop an event as a group effort, from idea to implementation
- compare the values of different ideas and the consequences of solutions
- use an event to build a positive image of a company and of herself/himself as an expert.

Implementation and methods of teaching

Delivery method: face-to-face and distance learning, independent work and teamwork. Lectures, presentations, observation, and supervised and independent learning tasks.

The group will be divided into teams and their work will be peer-assessed at the end. Progress will be updated in a learning diary.

Timing and attendance

80% attendance required.

Building competence requires active presence throughout the course. Attendance is compulsory at the start and end day of the course.

The course lasts throughout the autumn and classes are held approximately every two weeks.

Student time use and work load

The scope of the course is 5 credits. On average, 5 x 27h = 135h of work are required to achieve the desired level of competence. The total number of hours is divided into face-to-face teaching, teamwork and independent work.

Contents

PUMU, for wearable design students.

The course introduces the production processes of professional event, show and exhibition productions, from design to implementation and post-production in an authentic environment. The course will go into detail about the commonalities and differences between productions, as well as their specific characteristics. The planning and promotion of the KOE fashion show and the acquisition of funding will play a major role in the course.

Assessment criteria

Active attendance in the course, and successful completion and return of the assigned assignments according to the timetable. Participation as an active member of the team persistently in the long term, as well as the promotion of independent assignments on your own initiative within the time schedule is of primary importance.

A fail grade is given when the student has not achieved the learning objectives of the course or has not been able to demonstrate his/her competence. Or the student has not completed the tasks for which he/she is responsible and has not actively participated in joint meetings. Failure to return the learning diary or assignments 1 week after the end of the course, unless otherwise agreed.

Assessment criteria: level 1 (assessment scale 1–5)

Student:
- can work according to instructions.
- can search for professional information related to the course in a guided way.
- has participated in common teaching situations and meetings 80%.
- has carried out the tasks for which he/she was responsible under supervision.
- has not shown activity, initiative and self-direction.

Student:
- can apply and develop a variety of options in their working process.
- Can use what they have learned in a planned and creative way.
- has done well in completing the tasks for which he/she was responsible within the time limits.
- Has demonstrated activity, initiative and self-direction as a member of a team.
- can apply the methods used, suggest and brainstorm ways of working and communicate constructively in a team.
- understands the laws and specificities of the different types of event production, from the details to the big picture.

Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)

Student:
- can apply and develop a variety of options in their working process
- Can use what they have learned in a planned and creative way in their work and apply the feedback they receive.
- Has done an excellent job of completing the tasks for which he/she was responsible on time and has always been aware of the progress of the production.
- Has shown exceptional activity, initiative and self-direction as a team member and has offered to help others when needed, where possible.
- understands the laws and peculiarities of the different types of event production, from the details to the big picture, and is able to manage scheduling and react quickly to abnormal situations that inevitably arise in event production.
