Implementation and methods of teaching

Clay moulding and in particular experimenting with the different properties of clay are at the heart of the course. The course will also include assignments that are not intended to become permanent works, so artistic experimentation and pushing the limits of your own work will be central to the course.

Timing and attendance

During the course, it is essential that students monitor each other's progress, and mid-term critiques/discussions are held to assess the progress of each student's work. Attendance is compulsory for critiques.

Contents

The course introduces you to the different forms, viscosities and hardnesses of clay. You will learn how to make an internal and external frame for successful clay modelling, and the requirements and possibilities of ceramic clay.
