Contents

Painting: Temperature of colour and spatial illusion

The course focuses on the visual language of painting. During the course, one or more paintings will be made, based on the representation of space. Working is supported by exercises, which can be used to explore different ways/means of representing spatiality in a two-dimensional picture, using the principles of colour theory and composition.

This course will build on colour theory. Emphasis is placed on the representation of space/spatiality in a two-dimensional image, the mixing of colours and the management of the colour palette of a painting.

In their own work, students will be able to use the qualities of colour to create a spatial fusion in a painting. The student's relationship with the meaning of colour as an expressive element of painting will be deepened.
