The course is organised each year with different content.
Spring 2024, Etching Methods, Studies in Gravure Printing
The aim of the course is to deepen the student's knowledge of printmaking. The course will complement the methods learned in the first year and will continue the practice of other printmaking techniques.
The course is part of the advanced methodological studies in printmaking. The techniques taught will vary from year to year, ranging from stone lithography to exposure methods linked to gravure techniques or other current methods.
The course includes technique demos and lectures. The course ends with a joint feedback discussion.
Timing and attendance
The course is organised each year with different content. The basic studies in printmaking (KKU1106-3001) must be completed. This course is designed to supplement the knowledge of the methods acquired in the first year and to continue practising other techniques of printmaking.
Alternative completion methods
The course cannot be taken remotely.
Exam retakes
If a student does not receive a pass in a course, he or she must take it again the following year.

The course is 5 credits. 1 credit means 27 hours of work.The workshop is run for about 8 hours a day, from Tuesday to Friday for 4 weeks

Assessment criteria
Completion of the course requires attendance (80%) at both class and feedback discussion, successful completion of assignments and active participation.

Failure to complete:
- repeated absences from lessons and teaching situations
- significant failure to meet the learning objectives
- incomplete completion of assignments
- poor knowledge of the methods to be practised and the materials involved
- disregard for workshop instructions and safety at work
- non-attendance at final discussions and lectures
Assessment criteria: level 1 (assessment scale 1–5)
- Can work according to instructions
- Can generate ideas for a work of art and execute the work(s) using printmaking techniques
- Can identify the specific features of the technique/techniques and understand the working processes involved in them in a guided manner.
- Can participate in guided learning discussions
- Can search for professional information in their field
Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)
- Can apply a wide range of options to their artistic practice
- Can independently and in a guided manner realise a graphic art work based on their ideas and develop their work based on feedback received
- Can independently identify and compare the specific features of the printing method(s) used and understand the working processes involved.
- Can evaluate and justify their skills and set artistic, content and technical development objectives
- Able to monitor and describe the professional debate in their field

- Can apply and develop a variety of options when working with the printmaking technique(s).
- Can use what they have learnt in a planned and creative way when creating graphic art works and apply the feedback they receive
- Can apply the printmaking technique(s) used and analyse the work
- Can evaluate, develop and extend artistic, content and technical skills
- Participate in professional debates in their field
