Learning outcomes
The student can
- basics of workshop work and occupational safety practices
- basics of the background, development and current practices of contextual art
- binding and analyzing the work of art to its space
- develop works of art based on space and situation

Implementation and methods of teaching
During the course you will learn about the practices and possibilities of art-making outside the white cube. How does art fit in with its environment? What kind of situations can art in public space create? What are the issues to consider when making art in a shared public space, populated by a variety of conflicts and disagreements? The course will cover the basics of contextual art practices and learn how to develop artworks in a spatial and contextual context.
Contents
During the course you will learn about the practices and possibilities of art-making outside the white cube. How does art fit in with its environment? What kind of situations can art in public space create? What are the issues to consider when making art in a shared public space, populated by a variety of conflicts and disagreements? The course will cover the basics of contextual art practices and learn how to develop artworks in a spatial and contextual context.
