Online course.

Timing and attendance

This is an online course. An Info session is on Zoom on September 5 at 16.15. Exercises, assignments and tests to be completed through Moodle according to the time plan. A Moodle exam on October 20. The instructions for the assignments are all in Finnish.

3 x 27 hours, the workload is spread evenly during the course

Contents

- revision of essential grammar: verbs, nouns, sentence structure, adjectives and prepositions.

Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.

The course is targeted to students whose grade for English at matriculation exam was lower than C, or students who have not studied in senior high school (lukio) or whose level of English is below B1 according to the Common European Framework. The course is taught at level B1.2/B2.1. This course cannot be included in compulsory language studies. The instructions on Moodle are in Finnish.

Assessment criteria

Written assignments, tests and a Moodle exam are to be completed successfully as specified by the teacher.

The student has a good command of the course content. The student can deliver everyday messages clearly in writing; possible problems with grammar and vocabulary do not hinder communication.
