Learning outcomes

Students are able to
- use a limited number of short phrases, key vocabulary and grammatical structures
- express themselves in everyday situations using narrow vocabulary
- pronounce practised phrases intelligibly
- write simple messages
Implementation and methods of teaching
Language of instructions: Finnish, English and Russian. Online learning: participating in Zoom lectures, on-line assignments and homework, speaking tasks, accepted obligatory tasks.
Timing and attendance
The Zoom lessons are taught two times in a week for two hours at once.
70% active participation in class.
Learning material and recommended literature
Materials provided by the lecturer on Moodle and Zoom.
Exam retakes
Examination resit is possible via EXAM-service.

28 Zoom lessons, 50h of independent work including written and oral home-work assignments.
Contents
Grammar: motion verbs, ordinal numbers 1-31, Genitive and Instrumental cases, Past tense of verbs, reflexive verbs and Complex Future tense.
Situations: on a business trip, company visit, asking directions, expressing dates, writing e-mails, working with clients and hobbies.
Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.
Venäjä 2 (3 ECTS) or equivalent skills. Starting level A1.2, target level A1.3.
Students speaking Russian as the mother tongue are not generally accepted to the course.
Assessment criteria
The course can be completed in two ways: 1) continuous evaluation (70% active participation in class and accepted obligatory tasks) or 2) exam in Moodle and accepted obligatory tasks.

The student has reached the learning outcomes of the course at a good level. The student can interact quiet fluently both orally and in writing in communicative situations studied during the course. The student can use the achieved knowledge in new situations with some limitations.

The student has reached the learning outcomes of the course at an excellent level. The student can fluently interact both orally and in writing in various communicative situations. The student can confidently use the achieved knowledge in new situations.
