Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- identify and use the course vocabulary and phrases for common everyday situations
- tell about oneself and understand basic questions
- read and write simple sentences related to the course topics.

Implementation and methods of teaching
Online lessons and independent studying.
Timing and attendance
- The course will be organized during one period in weeks 36 to 42.
- Active participation is required.
- Written exam in weeks 43 to 45. Oral exam in week 42.
Learning material and recommended literature
Materials given by the teacher. The material is in Moodle.
Exam retakes
Resit written exam in weeks 48 and 49.
Schedule for resit oral exam will be arranged later.
Learning environment
Lessons are in Zoom and exercises in Moodle.

Contents
The course content will be the following:
- greetings
- introduction and personal details
- questions and answers
- numbers and alphabet
- set phrases at the cafe
- countries, languages, nationalities
- pronunciation
- verb type 1, present tense
- genitive case.
Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.
No previous Finnish skills required.

Written exam (reading and writing): 1 to 5
Oral exam (listening and speaking): 1 to 5
Learning assignments: pass / fail
