Sisältö

This year, the NordBiz course, will focus on Circular Economy. It is an elective joint course in the NordBiz network of universities from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden. From each of the participating countries a group of 4 students is chosen based on the academic achievements. Every year the course focuses on a different industry – this year it is Sustainable Ocean focusing on sea resources – fisheries but also on the environmental problems connected with the ocean e.g. plastic pollution.

The course consists of two different parts:

• Case report: At the beginning of the course, the students prepare a country case report at their home university. The case report is focused on how companies/organizations/municipalities in their home country deal with the topics of this course. The findings in the case report will be presented and graded during the first part of the intensive week in Reykjavik. Case report requires group work in Finland.

• Intensive week project (IWP report): During the intensive week, the students will be working in multicultural groups preparing a project, which will be presented and graded at the end of the course. This will take place in Reykjavik.

The course starts in January 2023, students are provided with reading materials and are required to work on the Case Report. In April students travel for an intensive week project which this time will take place in Iceland. Students will participate there in a group project and present their results.

The course is an excellent opportunity to gain international experience; not only to tackle important current questions but also to work in a multicultural environment and create a network of future business people.

Here you can see a short clip from the last course that took place in Norway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_eG_-ivEf4.
