Implementation and methods of teaching

Content consists of conversational classes and Moodle assignments.

Learning environment

The learning will occur in classrooms at LAB Mukkula campus and in Moodle.

Student time use and work load

The course should be about 108 hours of work. Student's workload consists of attending class and completing written and oral tasks and assignments.

Contents

Tools and techniques for learning beyond this course.
Excercises and coversation classes to help build confidence and equip students for patient-client interaction.
The course will also review common areas of Nursing practice and seek to build vocablulary and professional communication skills
consideration of the effect of culture on communication and views of effective care.

Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.

This course does not review English grammar. It is expected that the students enrolled in the course have an intermediate-level command of English (CEFR B2).

Assessment criteria

A number of assignments are graded on a scale of 0-5. Other assignments are pass/fail. Students must attain a passing grade (1 or pass) on all assignments to pass the course.

The student can perform well and in a professional manner in varied communicative situations and write easy-to-read professional English.
