Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- pronounce and speak English clearly
- have general discussions in English
- listen to and give presentations and speeches in English
- take actively part in informal meetings
- read informal and formal texts, e.g. articles and news
- write emails, summaries and reports.

The course will prepare students for academic studies in the field of technology.

Implementation and methods of teaching

In class learning and homework for 7 students from HEBEI university.

Each 4-lesson teaching session will be broken down as follows:

Lesson 1: Student day-opening: Presentation by student in English of a topic of interest to them and they have researched. The student then answers questions asked in English on that topic from the students ask.

Lesson 2: Work from IELTS book (exact work to be determined by Student need)

Lesson 3: Communication skills: Functional use of English in real situations.

The students should be very close to B2 level and at which the student
1.Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization.
2.Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
3.Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
