Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- create a therapeutic interaction in mental health and substance abuse treatment
- reflect one's own values and attitudes to the ethical principles of mental health and substance abuse treatment
- apply non-pharmacological and pharmacological methods of nursing
- identify mental health and substance abuse problems and understand the need for and stages of physical, mental and social care in different nursing settings
- describe the symptoms of the most common psychiatric illnesses and disorders, the main features of the treatment, the methods of treatment and the significance for the client and society
