Learning outcomes

This is an international intensive week primarily aimed at business students.

Implementation and methods of teaching

The course is an interdisciplinary international intensive week in Latvia. It includes a pre-assignment before the intensive week and face to face activities during the stay in Latvia. Students will learn about social entrepreneurship and advance their understanding of social entrepreneurship and foster their skills and competencies through social start-ups simulation based on real societal challenges. More precisely, students will develop entrepreneurial competencies, including knowledge and skills, related to initiating or managing a social enterprise, social innovations, or social impact by:
• learning and collaborating with students from five countries
• learning case stories of social enterprises
• building ideas on ethical and sustainable thinking
• learning by doing and networking
• designing business models for social enterprises.

The Erasmus+ funded Developing social entrepreneurial skills in higher education (SEinHE)-project funds the trips and accommodation for the students whose registration is accepted.

LAB degree program students from any discipline can register to the course. Five students will be accepted.

Timing and attendance

The course takes place Oct. 3 - 7 (excluding traveling days). It can only be completed by active contribution to the pre-assignment and full time participation face to face in Riga and Rezekene, Latvia.

Learning material and recommended literature

All materials will be delivered by the teachers.

Working life cooperation

During the intensive week students will work in international groups in close cooperation with company representatives.

First-year students can not be selected.
