Learning outcomes
This is an international intensive week primarily aimed at business students.
Implementation and methods of teaching
This course is an international intensive week that takes place on 19 - 23 of September in Tartu, Estonia. It invites students to learn entrepreneurial skills by doing. During the course the students will team up with international peer students and have a novel collaborative learning experience in Tartu.The international student teams develop entrepreneurial competences, especially from challenge based business, including knowledge and skills by creating their own social venture plan. Students also meet social entrepreneurs, researchers and have mentors who support the process. iSEE - Innovating Social Entrepreneurship Education -project covers traveling and accommodation costs as well as some lunches social events.
The course is intended for International Business -degree program students in any level of their studies.
Timing and attendance
The course can only be completed by active full time participation face to face in Tartu, Estonia. Departure 18th of September and returning 23th of September. Further instructions after registration. The group will travel together.
Contents
The international intensive week Challenge Based Entrepreneurship is aimed for students interested in environmental and/or social issues and challenges with a background in the field of business, technology or social and healthcare, and who are particularly interested in how to combine new thinking and concepts with entrepreneurship. The one-week study programme consists of workshops, international team work and a few lectures.
During the week Students will
• spot opportunities, envision future and use imagination
• assess ethical and sustainable aspects and social impact
• develop a social venture plan in collaboration with international student peers
• create solutions to chosen challenges
• learn from practical case stories and theories about social entrepreneurship
• learn by co-creating, team-up, collaborate and network
Assessment criteria
No exam. Active participation in lectures and group work. The student groups will present a group work on Friday. The groups get feedback to their ideas.
