- use maching, welding and sheet plate engineering in practice

Implementation and methods of teaching

The student learns to carry out a simple product development project and act as a member of a project team. The student can search for information from various sources and apply it to design and manufacturing-related problems. The student can create feasible manufacturing drawings. Additionally, the student understands the impact of design decisions on the manufacturing costs of the device.

Timing and attendance

Spring 2023

Student time use and work load

In the course, a device according to predetermined constraints is designed and manufactured collaboratively. Each group is allocated a specific budget to be used for purchasing parts and materials for the project.

The first phase is dedicated to brainstorming and planning the project work. The planning is done in a project-oriented and self-directed manner.

In the second phase, the group manufactures the device according to their plan in the Laboratory of technology during the 4th period.

Contents

The student learns to create manufacturing drawings and production plans for a product and to manufacture a functional product based on their created plans. The student understands the connection between design and manufacturing.

Assessment criteria

Participation in mandatory design intermediate reviews is required. Approved production plans and a functional technical device are necessary to participate in the final evaluation.

Assessment scale

1-5

Failed (0)

The student has not actively participated in the project implementation.

Assessment criteria: level 1 (assessment scale 1–5)
