Assessment criteria

The overall grade for the course is determined by the combined results of course parts 1) and 2). Both have an equal weight of 50%

Assessment scale

1-5

Failed (0)

Does not meet the minimum competency level.

Assessment criteria: level 1 (assessment scale 1–5)

Minimum competency level: The student is able to reproduce learned material, use design software and PDM system at a basic level, employ the machine design process, and recall most of the key factors from the sections on machine design processes and product safety

Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)

Proficient competency level: The student has the ability to apply their knowledge to most practical situations. The student can use the machine design process task-specifically and partially adapt it appropriately. They can use design software and PDM system efficiently and remember the key factors of machine design processes and product safety.

Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)

Outstanding competency level: The student has the ability to apply their knowledge extensively to various practical situations. The student can effectively and adaptively use the machine design process for tasks, proficiently use design software and PDM system, applying them extensively. They have a broad recall of the factors in machine design processes and product safety. The student is capable of guiding and instructing others.
